Molier, Todd NFHCA DI Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Madelief Molier, a sophomore forward from James Madison University, and Ellie Todd, a senior goalkeeper from Wake Forest University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division I Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Ryleigh Heck, a senior forward from the University of North Carolina, and Olivia Caponiti, a junior goalkeeper from Princeton University, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week

Madelief Molier, James Madison University, Sophomore, Forward (Rotterdam, Netherlands)

  • Netted 4 goals on the week, including a hat trick in a 3-1 road upset of then No. 8 Michigan.
  • Extended that scoring streak to three straight games, tying for a career-best.
  • Named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week

 

Ellie Todd, Wake Forest University, Senior, Goalkeeper (Boston, MA)

  • Anchored the Demon Deacons in back-to-back top-15 ACC wins.
  • Made five saves in an overtime win at then No. 4 Syracuse and then posted a season-high eight saves in a 2-1 win over then No. 13 Boston College.

NFHCA Division I Honorable Mention

Offensive: Ryleigh Heck, University of North Carolina, Senior, Forward (Ocean City, NJ)

  • Recorded a historic week with 7 goals and 2 assists across two wins for the Tar Heels.

Defensive: Olivia Caponiti, Princeton University, Junior, Goalkeeper (Rye, NY)

  • Posted back-to-back shutouts in wins over UPENN and UCONN.
