Chrissy Chappell Joins NFHCA as Member Services & Awards Director
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is thrilled to announce that Chrissy Chappell will join the organization as the Member Services & Awards Director in mid-February.
Chrissy brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion for field hockey to this full-time role. A dedicated NFHCA member and advocate for the sport, Chrissy has spent over a decade leading the Connecticut College field hockey program as Head Coach. Her coaching journey also includes impactful stints at UMass Amherst, American International College, and Kenyon College, as well as six years teaching math and coaching at the high school level in Connecticut.
In her new role, Chrissy will oversee the management of the NFHCA’s award programs and lead initiatives to support member engagement through events and programming. She will also collaborate with select NFHCA committees helping to further the NFHCA’s mission to champion, strengthen, and celebrate coaches and the game of field hockey.
“I am honored to join the NFHCA as the Member Services and Awards Director. This organization has played a pivotal role in advancing the field hockey community and has profoundly shaped my own career as a coach and professional,” remarked Chappell. “I look forward to working alongside our members to enhance programs that provide coach education, mentorship, and recognition for the achievements of coaches, student-athletes, and institutions.”
Chrissy joins a dedicated NFHCA staff that includes Executive Director Cate Clark, part-time Assistant Director Catherine Wiese, and part-time Digital Communications Specialist Laurie Temple.
Chrissy’s distinguished career also includes serving as an NCAA National Committee Member and Chair. A University of Connecticut alumna, she graduated in 2000 after a successful playing career with the Huskies, followed by earning her graduate degree in Education.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
