Murray, McGuinness named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Ella Murray, a junior forward from No. 4 Assumption University, and Erin McGuinness, a senior goalkeeper from Bentley University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

 

Erin McGuinness, Bentley University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Rutland, Massachusetts)

  • Named to the NE10 All-Tournament team.
  • Tallied 13 saves against Adelphi and then-No. 6 Assumption.
  • Stopped all four penalty shootout attempts to help the Falcons advance in the tournament quarterfinal win over Adelphi. Then, in the semifinal against Assumption, she added seven stops and recorded the 100th save of her career.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

 

Elle Murray, No. 4 Assumption University, Jr., Forward (Worcester, Massachusetts)

  • Named to the NE10 All-Tournament Team.
  • Tallied four goals across three conference tournament victories for No. 4 Assumption en route to the title.
  • Netted a goal and added an assist in the quarterfinals against Franklin Pierce before adding another score in the semifinals against Bentley. In the championship against then-No. 9 Saint Anselm, she added two more goals to lead Assumption to the tournament title.
