Schuster, Cornelius named NFHCA September Scholastic Players of the Month
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Caeleigh Schuster, a sophomore goalkeeper from East Hampton High School in East Hampton, New York, and Paige Cornelius, a senior midfielder from New Albany High School in New Albany, Ohio, have been named the September Scholastic Players of the Month.
Schuster faced 76 shots and tallied 69 saves – including three penalty strokes – for a 91% save percentage. For the month, her exceptional play helped her East Hampton squad secure a 7-1 record, including three shutouts.
Cornelius netted a remarkable 32 goals and tallied 11 assists for New Albany, an incredible 54% of her team’s goals for September. In a significant milestone, she reached 100 career goals, and currently stands at an impressive 114 career scores.
Honorable Mentions
Molly DiGiulio, a junior forward from the NIchols School in Buffalo, New York, and Saylor Milone, a senior forward from Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Pennsylvania, received honorable mention nods for the month.
DiGiulio recorded an impressive four hat-tricks for the month, netting 22 goals to go along with 13 assists in September.
Meanwhile, Milone posted 32 goals and added eight assists in September, leading her team to a 9-1 record.
