Nevel, Dietz named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Junior goalkeeper from No. 4 Bloomsburg University, Jackie Nevel, and junior forward from Pace University, Krista Dietz, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Junior goalkeeper from No. 8 Assumption University, Paige Gillette, senior forward from No. 5 University of Mount Olive, Avery Congleton, and graduate student midfielder from No. 2 East Stroudsburg University, Nicole Krozser, also received honorable mentions nods for Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, as well.
NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week
Jackie Nevel, No. 4 Bloomsburg University, Jr., Goalkeeper (Nescopeck, Pennsylvania)
- Named NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week for second-straight week.
- Posted a pair of shutouts in the Huskies’ 2-0 week, extending her shutout streak to five games.
- Stopped all four shots she faced against No. 9 Millersville before recording six saves on the road against Frostburg State.
- Has not allowed a goal in more than 345 minutes, the team’s longest shutout streak since 2011.
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week
Krista Dietz, Pace University, Jr., Forward (Mahopac, New York)
- Named Northeast 10 Player of the Week.
- Opened the week with an 11 point (5 goals and one assist) performance against New Haven, shattering Pace’s single-game record and marking the highest number of goals by any single player in a single Division II game this season.
- Tallied two goals and one assist against American International College.
- Leads all of Division II with 21 goals and 12 assists – averaging 3.38 points per game.
NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention
Paige Gillette, No. 8 Assumption University, Jr., Goalkeeper (Andover, Massachusetts)
- Recorded 11 saves and posted a 1.00 GAA and a 0.846 save percentage in a 2-0 week for Assumption, as the Greyhounds ran their winning streak to 11 games.
- Tallied nine saves against Southern New Hampshire in a 3-2 victory.
- Earned her conference-leading eighth shutout of the season against St. Thomas Aquinas College.
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention
Avery Congleton , No. 5 University of Mount Olive, Sr., Forward (Dagsboro, Delaware)
- Totaled eight points behind three goals and two assists, as the Trojans registered a pair of victories while clinching the top seed and the regular-season South Atlantic Conference championship.
- Recorded a goal and added two assists against then No. 10 Newberry College.
- Added a goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory over Limestone.
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention
Nicole Krozser, No. 2 East Stroudsburg University, Gr., Midfielder (Boonton, New Jersey)
- Netted three goals in a 2-0 week for the Warriors.
- Found the back of the cage twice in a 5-1 victory over No. 1 Shippensburg.
- Recorded her team-high 10th goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Mercyhurst.
