Kabo, Thompson named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Avian Thompson, junior goalkeeper from Queens University of Charlotte, and Britt Kabo, sophomore forward from Coker University, have been named this week’s Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Avian Thompson, Queens University of Charlotte, Jr., Goalkeeper (Hummelstown, Pennsylvania)

Last week, Thompson helped the Royals secure a win in their second game of the season. She made two saves to clinch the 2-0 shutout win over conference rival, Converse College.

Thompson was named South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Britt Kabo, Coker University, So., Forward (Maarssen, Netherlands)

Kabo contributed five points in Coker University’s 4-1 win over the University of Mount Olive last week. Kabo scored two goals — including the game winner — and registered an assist in the conference win. She currently leads the Cobras in both goals and points.

Kabo was named South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
