Intzes, Clements NFHCA DI Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Justina Intzes, a first year midfielder from Miami University, and Emma Clements, a sophomore goalkeeper from Virginia Commonwealth University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division I Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Camille Perlov, a sophomore forward/midfielder from Fairfield University, and Delphine Ayitey-Hammond, a sophomore goalkeeper from University of California-Berkeley, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week

Justina Intzes, Miami University, First Year, Midfielder (Mendoza, Argentina)

• Scored three goals in a 2-0 week, including both the game-winner and insurance goal in a key conference victory on the road at James Madison and another at Indiana
• Recognized as the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for her high-impact performances.

NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week

Emma Clements, Virginia Commonwealth University, Sophomore, Goalkeeper (Fredricksburg, VA)

• Named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week after recording two shutouts against then-No. 20 Saint Joseph’s and American.
• Posted a 1.000 save percentage and 0.00 goals-against average, totaling 11 saves across 133 minutes of action.
• Anchored the Rams’ defense to their fifth and sixth shutouts of the season, both 1-0 victories.

NFHCA Division I Honorable Mention

Offensive: Camille Perlov, Fairfield University, Sophomore, Forward/Midfielder (Hopkinton, MA)

• Tallied three goals, including two game-winners, in a 2-0 week for the Stags.
• Named the NEC Offensive Player of the Week for her scoring contributions.

Defensive: Delphine Ayitey-Hammond, University of California-Berkeley, Sophomore, Goalkeeper (London, England)

• Registered 13 saves to lead Cal to two conference wins, including a 1-0 shutout of then-No. 5 Syracuse.
• Also named the ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
