Designed as a platform to enhance your coaching knowledge on and off the field, the NFHCA Ready2Coach clinics provide field hockey coaching education, professional development, and networking opportunities for coaches at all levels. Educated coaches help deliver a positive playing experience for athletes and their teams.
Key Elements
Clinics are designed to be engaging, inclusive, interactive, fun and may focus on any or all of these key elements:
- Technical: tracking, shooting, passing/receiving, 1v1 defending and attacking
- Tactical: possession, outletting, pressing, transitional attack and defense, red zone execution, midfield transfers, penalty corners
- Practice & Game Preparation: practice planning, drill design, conditioning, team formations, interchange and substitution, recovery, travel planning, game warm-ups, film analysis
- Leadership & Team Management: cultivating culture, mindset development, player development, emotional intelligence, communication, team building, communicating with stakeholders
Key field hockey principles are explained through demonstrations, chalk talks, drills, and classroom workshops. Active participation by attendees is encouraged.
