In the COVID-19 era, coaches are having to get creative — dreaming up drills that help their players develop, while keeping them safe and distanced.

Kelsi has put together a drill progression that introduces and reinforces good defensive footwork and outletting skills while keeping players safely apart. The drill begins with working on a defender’s body positioning and spacial awareness then progresses to adding an intercepting element as well as allowing players to work on carrying the ball out of the circle and outletting to a teammate.

This drill’s four levels of progression are just a starting point, keep modifying to build this drill into bigger, more game-like scenarios!
