Dotterweich, Leonard named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y. — Graduate student goalkeeper from No. 4 Kutztown University, Katie Dotterweich, and senior forward from No. 6 Assumption University, Christina Leonard, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week sponsored by ScoreBreak, respectively.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

 

Katie Dotterweich, No. 4 Kutztown University, Gr., Goalkeeper (Douglassville, Pennsylvania)

  • Finished a two-game week undefeated in cage
  • Earned two shutout victories against ranked teams
  • Finished the week with eight saves
  • Led Kutztown to a 2-0 win vs then-No. 10 Bloomsburg University
  • Led Kutztown to a 2-0 victory over then-No. 8 Indiana University of Pennsylvania
  • Ranks in the top-five in the PSAC in save percentage (.768), goals against average (1.021) and shutouts (4)
  • Named PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week​

 

Christina Leonard, No. 6 Assumption University, Sr., Forward (Marlborough, Massachusetts)

  • Scored a program record five goals in the 6-1 victory vs Franklin Pierce University
  • These five goals are the most in either Division I or Division II this year
  • Named NE10 Player of the Week

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport.
