NFHCA announces four more Ready2Coach sessions
BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is thrilled to announce the details of the final four sessions in the Ready2Coach series sponsored by AstroTurf.
Ready2Coach, a reprisal from last year’s NFHCA Annual Convention, is the field hockey-focused portion of the Virtual Coaches’ Caucus. In total, nine Ready2Coach sessions are scheduled, which will cover a wide range of on-field topics.

Principles of Play: Tactical Development
Join Ashley, Amanda, and Lauren as they provide drills for developing in-game tactical awareness both on attack and defense. The Become Uncommon team will help you understand how to create habits in training that translate into the game.

Skills Development through SSG: How to Actually Do It
Coaches tend to agree that small-sided games (SSGs) are the best way to teach the game, but that their teams need individual skill development in order to execute the games. So begins the “chicken or the egg” dilemma of which to pursue, for how long, and when (like…do we ever even get to the game)? In this presentation, take a look into how you can actually combine the two by focusing more on the environment you create and how it encourages the behaviors you wish to develop — all while having more fun!
Jackie Kintzer Briggs
Assistant Coach, Wake Forest University
Preparing Elite Goalkeepers for a High-Performance Environment
This session will help you prepare your goalkeepers with what they need to know and be comfortable doing to make an immediate impact at the next level, whatever their next level is! Throughout the session, Jackie will cover strong basic skills, mobility and ground work, defending corners, and shootouts. You will leave with the tools to pinpoint and correct bad habits in your goalkeepers.
Julia Mauro
Head Coach, Bridgewater State University
Essential Steps to Increase Student-Athlete Learning
To ensure that learning is occurring we have a responsibility to become better teachers of the game. This presentation will outline key steps to improve the learning environment for your student-athletes.
