2025 NFHCA Division I Regional Players of the Year

Regional Player of the Year(1)

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is pleased to announce the five student-athletes who have been  selected to represent their respective region as the NFHCA Division I Regional Player of the Year. Each regional award winner is now in the running for NFHCA Division I National Player of the Year honors.

Mid-Atlantic Region

Beth Yeager, Princeton University, Senior, Midfielder (Greenwich, CT)

  • Named to the NFHCA All-Region Mid-Atlantic First Team, marking a fourth career selection
  • Earned Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors for the fourth time
  • Selected as a First-Team All-Ivy honoree for the fourth consecutive season
  • Recognized as the Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player and named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team
  • Tallied five goals and one assist during Princeton’s postseason run to the NCAA National Championship game

Mideast Region

Bo van Kempen, Syracuse University, Graduate Student, Defender (Zevenaar, Netherlands)

  • Named to the NFHCA All-Region Mideast First Team, marking a second career First-Team honor
  • Earned All-ACC First Team and ACC All-Tournament Team recognition, marking a second career First-Team selection
  • Led Syracuse in scoring with 23 goals and 53 points, ranking among national leaders
  • Powered the Orange’s postseason surge, scoring decisive goals in the ACC semifinals and NCAA quarterfinals
  • Twice honored as the ACC Offensive Player of the Week

Northeast Region

Bronte-May Brough, Harvard University, Senior, Defender (Uttoxeter, England)

  • Named to the NFHCA All-Region Northeast First Team, marking a third career First-Team honor
  • Selected to the NFHCA Senior Team
  • Recognized as a two-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and a four-time All-Ivy First Team honoree
  • Earned Ivy League All-Tournament Team recognition for an outstanding postseason performance
  • Anchored a Harvard defense that posted a 19-2 record and advanced to the NCAA semifinals, contributing five goals and two assists

South Region

Ryleigh Heck, University of North Carolina, Senior, Forward (Ocean City, NJ)

  • Named to the NFHCA All-Region South First Team, marking a fourth career First-Team honor
  • Selected to the NFHCA Senior Team
  • Earned All-ACC First Team honors for the fourth time and named to the ACC All-Tournament Team for the third straight season
  • Totaled 17 goals and 13 assists to lead one of the nation’s most potent offenses
  • Played a key role in North Carolina’s ACC Championship title run and NCAA semifinal appearance

West Region

Maddie Zimmer, Northwestern University, Graduate Student, Midfielder (Hershey, PA)

  • Recognized on the NFHCA All-Region West First Team, marking a fifth career First-Team honor
  • Named Big Ten Player of the Year for the second time and a five-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree
  • Powered Northwestern to a 22-1 season and the 2025 NCAA National Championship title
  • Recorded three assists in the Wildcats’ NCAA semifinal overtime win and assisted on the overtime game-winner in the national championship game
  • Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team and honored as the Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player for the third time

The NFHCA Division I Regional Player of the Year announcement is the second in a list of postseason awards from the NFHCA. Last week the 2025 NFHCA Division I All-Region teams were announced. The Division I NFHCA All-American teams will be announced on December 16 and the NFHCA Division I National Player of the Year on December 18.
