The Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Department (PERA) is seeking an individual with experience working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their teaching, administration, leadership or service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community.
PERA is currently accepting applications for a full-time non-tenure track appointment as Associate Head Coach of Field Hockey. This is a one year appointment. The position is .60 FTE and includes benefits.
Responsibilities: Serve as Interim Head Coach during a parental leave in the fall. In the interim role, manage all aspects of a Division III field hockey program, including but not limited to coaching, practice organization, student-athlete wellness, recruiting, player skill/leadership development and the supervision of an assistant coach. In the Associate role during the non-traditional seasons, assist the Head coach with all aspects of the program and work in partnership to ensure a consistent and successful experience for the student athletes. The successful candidate will also encourage academic and athletics excellence and adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the College, NCAA, and New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference.
Start Date: August 1, 2021.
Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred but not required. Demonstrated experience coaching, recruiting, and teaching preferred. Experience in student-athlete leadership development, group dynamics, and effective communications are highly valued.
All candidates should possess an understanding of the role Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics play in a rigorous academic setting with an ability to identify and attract outstanding students to one of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges that has international prominence.
A valid driver’s license, clearance to drive College vehicles and full background check are required.
