The Washington & Jefferson College department of athletics offers the assistant/intern position  to provide a hands-on learning experience within an NCAA Division III sports organization. The W&J coaching internships are excellent opportunities toward a career in coaching and/or athletic administration. The field hockey internship provides a stipend, housing and meals.

The program’s objective is to use the college’s NCAA Division III sports to give aspiring men and women opportunities to observe, participate and gain experience to eventually become a head coach at the collegiate level.

The Head Field Hockey Coach is the intern’s primary supervisor. The intern will also be evaluated by the Director of Athletics.

Stipend: $9,000 (9-month contract – September thru May) Housing: On-campus apartment (two interns per apartment); Utilities included with the exception of cable and home internet Meal Stipend: $100 per month (9 months starting in September)

Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree required. •Excellent communication skills. •Knowledge of NCAA rules and collegiate playing experience
