National Cathedral School (NCS: www.ncs.cathedral.org) seeks a full-time physical education teacher and field hockey coach for grades 4 to 12 beginning August 16, 2021. The successful candidates can expect to teach the required Lower School physical education classes (grades 4-6) as well as coach three seasons Middle School (grade 7-8) and Upper School sports (grades 9-12). Preferred coaching experience in field hockey.
Teachers in the physical education department at NCS are committed to a student-centered pedagogy, skill development, and the positive benefits of experiences outside of the classroom. The successful candidate must be able to teach fundamental, age- appropriate motor skills and concepts combined with a variety of sport specific skills. Sportsmanship, teamwork, and lifelong habits for a healthy, active lifestyle are the foundation of the physical education curriculum.
NCS is looking for an enthusiastic and positive candidate with the experience and knowledge to guide our programs forward. Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (physical education preferred) and have pertinent teaching/coaching experience.
