NFHCA renews AstroTurf partnership

GILBERT, Ariz. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is excited to renew and expand their partnership with the inventor of synthetic turf, AstroTurf®

"AstroTurf is very pleased to continue and build upon its relationship with the NFHCA," said AstroTurf's Field Hockey Specialist, Melissa Vassalotti Twist. "AstroTurf has a long history of innovation and leadership in the hockey world. Who we choose as a partner is of great importance to achieving our goals, and in the NFHCA we have an organization that mirrors our passion and commitment to growing and supporting the sport of field hockey."

In their first year as a sponsor of the NFHCA, AstroTurf supported the High School All-American awards. In recent years, AstroTurf has been the exclusive sponsor of the NFHCA Awards Dinner, which is the culmination of the NFHCA awards season and the premier event at the NFHCA Annual Convention. AstroTurf will continue to sponsor the NFHCA Awards Dinner and, in 2019, will also be the official sponsor of the NFHCA's weekly member newsletter, The Scoop.

"We are honored to continue our longstanding partnership with AstroTurf," said NFHCA President, Andy Whitcomb. "AstroTurf's choice to sponsor new NFHCA initiatives shows how committed they are to the future of field hockey and the future of our association —the NFHCA is, as always, grateful for their unwavering support."

"We are excited to expand our partnership with the NFHCA through The Scoop newsletter," remarked Vassalotti Twist. "Our intention to grow the game and expand our reachability amongst all levels of hockey includes providing not only water-based, hockey-specific products but also high-density infill systems to cater to all levels of play. We look forward to sharing more about our systems in future editions of The Scoop."

AstroTurf is one of the most iconic brands in American sports. Field hockey was first played on AstroTurf at the 1976 Montreal Olympics — since then, AstroTurf has continued to evolve their synthetic turf to provide fast-playing, non-directional, uniform products that are demanded by programs across the world. AstroTurf is also committed to growing the game of field hockey and providing access to more high-quality pitches at all levels of the sport.
