NFHCA announces January Club Players of the Month

GILBERT, Ariz. — This spring, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is recognizing club players and their accomplishments through the Club Player of the Month award. Athletes were nominated by the NFHCA member coaches and selected by a voting panel of NFHCA representatives.

Three athletes were recognized as their state's NFHCA Club Player of the Month for their performances during the month of January.

New York

Hailey Roethel, Lasting Legacy

While wearing the Lasting Legacy uniform in the month of January, Hailey scored 11 goals, had 5 assists and 2 defensive saves. During a tournament in Feasterville, Pennsylvania, where Lasting Legacy was preparing for USA Field Hockey's Sheetz National Indoor Tournament (NIT), Hailey's U16 team compiled a 9-1 cumulative record in U16 and U19 pools. Hailey lead her team to a 25-goal differential, a U16 tournament championship and second place in the U19 tournament.

North Carolina

Myah Pease, Charlotte Ambush

Myah's extra work on her shooting skills has paid off — during the month of January, Myah scored 19 goals helping her team to a 9-1 record. During Charlotte Ambush's NIT qualifier in Louisville, Kentucky, Myah scored 12 goals on 23 penalty corners. Myah's coaches note that she encourages and inspires others and dedicates herself with enthusiasm to a sport she loves.

Tyler Kennedy, Texas Pride

During the month of January, Tyler helped her Texas Pride team to a first-place finish at their USA Field Hockey National Indoor Tournament qualifier — the first time a Texas Pride U16 team has ever done so. Over the course of five games, Tyler faced 27 shots and allowed only two goals. Her coach noted that Tyler did an excellent job of directing her defense and managing the game from the backfield.
