GILBERT, Ariz. — Marlise van Tonder, redshirt sophomore goalkeeper from the University of the Pacific, and Anna Willocks, senior forward from No. 10 Saint Joseph's University have been named this week's Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week
Marlise van Tonder, University of the Pacific, RSo., Goalkeeper (Pretoria, South Africa)
Van Tonder was outstanding on the road during the University of the Pacific's final regular-season contests last week. She allowed just two goals while facing 15 shots. The Tigers picked up essential conference victories over in-state rivals, No. 22 Stanford University and the University of California – Berkeley. The score in both wins was 2-1.
Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week
Anna Willocks, Saint Joseph's University, Sr., Forward (Palmerston North, New Zealand)
Willocks had four goals and added an assist as the No. 10 Hawks won a pair of games to close out the regular season with the program's third consecutive Atlantic 10 regular-season title. She scored twice on Friday in SJU's 7-1 conference win over La Salle University. Then on Saturday she posted a five-point afternoon, with two goals and an assist as the Hawks topped No. 17 Syracuse University, 5-2.
Greta Nauck, University of Delaware, Sr., Forward (Krefeld, Germany)
Nauck finished weekend play with nine points in wins over Northeastern University and Hofstra University. In Sunday's regular season finale against the Pride, Nauck logged her fifth career hat trick and added two assists for a total of eight points. She also posted an assist in Friday's contest versus the Huskies.
Abby Siana, Villanova University, Jr., Forward/Midfielder (Chester Springs, Pennsylvania)
Siana helped the Wildcats secure the final spot in the 2018 BIG EAST Championship in the team's winner-take-all game against Old Dominion University. In Friday's contest, Villanova defeated ODU 2-1 in a shootout. Siana netted both goals for the Wildcats, one in regulation and one as the deciding goal in the penalty shootout.
Sydney Terroso, Yale University, So., Goalkeeper (York, Pennsylvania)
Terroso made 11 saves in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win versus Columbia University. In addition to her 11 saves during regulation and overtime, Terroso made three stops during the deciding shootout, keeping Columbia off the board and securing the win for the Bulldogs.
Next week will be the final week for the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Weekly Awards during the 2018 season — next week's awards will be announced on Tuesday, November 7, 2018.
