UNC stays on top of Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll going into postseason

GILBERT, Ariz. — For the eighth week in a row, the University of Carolina Tar Heels sit atop the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll. Their 17-0 record garnered a unanimous first-place selection in the poll going into postseason. They are the number one seed in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament which is set to begin this Thursday — UNC will bypass the first round of the tournament and will play the winner of No. 16 University of Virginia and No. 13 Boston College in the semifinal.

Following the Tar Heels in the poll is No. 2 University of Maryland, No. 3 Duke University and No. 4 University of Connecticut. Each of the three teams will compete in their conference tournaments this weekend with the Terps and the Huskies both seeded first, and the Blue Devils seeded second. No. 5 Princeton University will finish their regular season this weekend with their final conference matchup against Pennsylvania University on Saturday.

New to the poll this week is No. 25 Miami University of Ohio. The Red Hawks secured a regular-season championship and first seed in the Mid-American Conference tournament this past weekend with a 5-0 win over Ohio University.
