Remaining undefeated teams rank first and second on Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. — Following their 4-2 win over the University of Connecticut, the University of Maryland moved into the number two spot on the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll. Just ahead of them is the only other undefeated NCAA Division I team, No. 1 University of North Carolina — the Tarheels improved to 11-0 after a two-win weekend.

Completing the top-five is No. 3 University of Connecticut, No. 4 Duke University and No. 5 Princeton University.

Making the biggest leaps in the poll were No. 10 University of Iowa, No. 16 Wake Forest University and No. 21 Stanford University — Iowa and Wake each walked away from the weekend with a win over a ranked opponent and Stanford went 2-0 at home.

Thirteen games this week will feature two top-25 teams — follow the results of those games and all Division I field hockey matches on nfhca.org.

The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2018 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship.
