The top five stays the same in week three of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. — The third iteration of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll looks much like the second as the top-five ranking remains unchanged. For the fourth week in a row (including the preseason poll) undefeated Middlebury College sits at the top of the poll — they are followed by No. 2 Messiah College and No. 3 Tufts University, both teams still have a perfect record. No. 4 The College of New Jersey comes into the week with a 5-1 record while No. 5 Babson College currently touts a 7-2 record.

Breaking into the poll this week is No. 20 Ursinus College — the newly-ranked Bears will be tested on Thursday as they take on No. 4 TCNJ at 7:30 p.m. There are four other contests between top-20 teams this week, No. 16 Amherst College and No. 3 Tufts will be busy as they each play two games against ranked opponents. They will meet each other for a noon game on Saturday, then No. 3 Tufts will take on No. 14 Hamilton on Sunday. Before the weekend, No. 16 Amherst will face No. 19 MIT on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Follow the outcome of these games and find all Division III game results as well as team standings on nfhca.org.

The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, October 2. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2018 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.
