Three undefeated teams headline week four of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. — For the third week in a row, the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll top-five remains unchanged. The undefeated University of North Carolina continues to hold onto the number one spot. The University of Connecticut, also undefeated, comes in at number two and the University of Maryland, the third undefeated team on the poll, holds onto third for the fourth week in a row. Duke University (No. 4) and Princeton University (No. 5) round out the top-five.

Between No. 2 UConn and No. 3 Maryland, only one will have the potential to remain undefeated next week, as the Terps travel to Hartford, Connecticut to take on the Huskies in a Sunday afternoon contest.

Making the biggest leap in the poll this week is No. 12 Harvard University. The Crimson jumped eight spaces from last week where they were ranked at number 20. Harvard had two wins in their Ivy League opening weekend — they defeated Yale University 6-0 and took down the University of Maine (No. 18) in a 4-1 win.

Eleven games this week will feature two top-25 teams with six of those games taking place on Sunday. Follow all Division I field hockey game results and team standings on nfhca.org.

The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2018 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship.
