Longstreth/NFHCA Division II Weekly Award Winners Announced

GILBERT, Ariz. - West Chester junior forward/midfielder Kaitlin Hatch and Mercy junior goalkeeper Cheradynn Pettit have been selected as the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II weekly award winners for competition from Oct. 9-15, it was announced on Wednesday.

Honorable mention status went to LIU Post junior forward/midfielder Emily Miller and Saint Anselm senior midfielder Mia Vecchione.

Offensive Player of the Week

Kaitlin Hatch, West Chester Jr., M/F, Sewell, N.J./Washington Township

Hatch totaled two goals and three assists to lead West Chester to a pair of wins last week. She assisted on the team's first goal in a 2-0 win over Kutztown, and put forth a huge effort with two goals and two assists in a 5-1 win over then-No. 7 Limestone.

Defensive Player of the Week

Cheradynn Pettit, Mercy Jr., GK, Colorado Springs, Colo./Lewis Palmer

Pettit had a combined 17 saves in a pair of shutout victories for Mercy last week. She had 10 saves in a 4-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas, and came up with 10 stops to lift her team to a 1-0 overtime victory versus Bellarmine.

Honorable Mention

Emily Miller, LIU Post Jr., F/M, Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan

Miller totaled six goals in two games last week, including five in an 11-1 win over Southern Connecticut State.

Mia Vecchione, Saint Anselm Sr., M, Chelmsford, Mass./Bishop Guertin

Vecchione helped lead Saint Anselm to shutout wins over Assumption and Bentley last week while adding a goal in the process.
