Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll - Oct. 17

GILBERT, Ariz. - Shippensburg held the No. 1 ranking in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with two fellow conference squads coming in right behind the Raiders.

The Raiders captured 214 points and 18 first-place votes to once again take the No. 1 ranking. They were followed by two more teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with East Stroudsburg at No. 2 and Millersville at No. 3 in the poll.

Three squads from the Northeast-10 Conference came next with Saint Anselm at No. 4, LIU Post at No. 5 and Stonehill at No. 6. The rest of the ranking featured No. 7 West Chester, No. 8 Pace, No. 9 Limestone and No. 10 Bloomsburg.

Four games between top-10 squads are on this week's schedule, with eight different ranked teams participating in those contests. A pair of PSAC ranked matchups come on Tuesday with No. 7 West Chester at No. 2 East Stroudsburg and No. 10 Bloomsburg at No. 3 Millersville, while on Saturday the slate includes No. 5 LIU Post at No. 4 Saint Anselm and No. 8 Pace at No. 6 Stonehill in Northeast-10 action.

The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, October 24. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches, and has no bearing on selection to the 2017 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship.
